Me singing Imagine

Video number ninety eight. The activity on my Youtube channel is not letting up.

It was time for some video experimentation. A lot of my videos have involved me recording the song first. Then created the video afterwards to go along with the song. The issue before has been how to get a good quality recording that can be processed after recording from a live performance. After giving this some thought, I came up with a way to achieve it with little cost involved. That is if you have a half decent microphone to start with.

I’ll explain myself over these 5 vids. Maybe some of you might want to implement this yourself if you make singing videos.

Now for the first of the five videos. This is my version of the timeless classic Imagine by John Lennon. Enjoy!

Now for some Youtube info.

The one million video views barrier has been broken. That’s incredible. There aren’t many countries that haven’t registered views. I think there are roughly 10 countries that I don’t have views from! The latest count is 1,045,460.

The subscibers are close to the two thousand landmark at 1,923.

The total number of visitors to my channel is 41,970.

Next up, it’s another of the set of five recordings.

A challenge from last year

Now for something a little different. Last year, a friend of mine challenged me to take a Beatles song and write a different version of it. The only provision was that I could not select any of their songs that had been hit singles. The song I was to choose, had to come from one of their albums. I listened to all of their albums, and picked 10 possible songs out of all of them. Then I narrowed it down to a single song.

I normally find my own songs pretty easy to write, but this was more difficult that I first thought. With my own songs I can hear the full arrangement in my head, and all I have to do is to bring that into reality. In the case of this song though, it already had music to it, and I had to try and forget the original music, so that I could come up with my own. It wasn’t a quick process, but I eventually came up with something in the end.

There are now 526 Subscribers. Up a couple.

The viewings of my channel are 11,071.

The overall video views have topped 150k, and are now 150,542.
