Neil Diamond again.

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

I’m now up to my 93rd video.

It’s time I did some of my requests and I’m starting with the one that has been requested the most. There have been quite a few requests for lots of different Neil Diamond tunes, and I’ve covered a good deal already on Youtube, but this one has evaded my microphone thus far.

It’s “Love on the rocks”. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did singing it. Neil Diamond compositions are always a joy for me to sing.

Love on the rocks - Jeff Edwards

Let’s get back down to the nitty gritty figures. It’s all going well.

My subscribers have climbed up to 1,406.

The channel views have now moved forward to 32,593. and the total viewing figures for all my videos combined is 673,277!!

Here’s what’s coming next. It’s going to be another of my most requested, and it’s going to be by “The Fray”. Then something from Coldplay :)

Sight Or Sound. The album.

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

There are two major things I want to cover in this post. One is a song on someone else’s Youtube channel, and the other is my first album “Sight Or Sound”.

I’ll discuss the new album first.

It’s been on sale for a while now. It’s on sale at CD baby and available elsewhere. That’s ITunes, Amazon, Napster and many other outlets. It is only available digitally, so the CD’s are not available now, but they might be in time. This depends on how well it goes, and whether there are any offers for investment.

The track order for the album is as follows.

01) Soaked to the bone. *

02) So blue.

03) Convey. +

04) Take me home.

05) Don’t wish it away.

06) Broadcast fantasy.

07) Keep on waiting (The stood up song). *

08) Escape.

09) Twist of fate.

10) Blow away.

11) Unknown. *

12) Counting down the days. *

13) Sight Or Sound. #

14) When I grow.

15) You think it’s all over. *

You’ll notice some other characters at the end of some tracks. This is for extra information, which I’ve described below. So where you see these symbols, this is what they mean.

* = These tracks are not currently on Youtube.

# = Features the wonderful talents of guitarist “Steve Morgan”.

+ = This track is the official promotion track that will be offered out to companies, royalty free for promotional purposes only.

The final track on the album has an interesting story, and is probably a first. I think it’s the first sports song to be turned into a normal song. It’s normally the other way around. As a sports song, it was played a number of times on radio stations during the 2006 world cup campaign. The previous title of it was “They think it’s all over”, which was taken from the famous quote by Kenneth wolstenholme.

You can listen to clips from all tracks on the album by visiting the purchase page, at the following link:

Now the other thing. A Youtube video. This was put up by a Youtube member going by the name of “KarenEng”. It’s a duet with her and I. The song is the classic “You don’t bring me flowers” by Neil Diamond and Barbara Streisand. I’ve wanted to put this one up for a long time, but finding the right female vocal wasn’t easy. That was until I found Karen. She has a great voice. have a listen and see what you think :)

Now for the regular dose of stats from Youtube.

I’ve flown past the 900 barrier with subscribers, and now have 912. I’m getting ever closer to 4 figures now.

My channel viewings are picking up and are now up to 21,373.

All of my videos have been watched a total of 356,896.

I mentioned a video order in the last post. It was a bit wrong. my next video upload will be “Afternoons and Coffee spoons” originally by the “Crash test dummies”, because I’ve already got that one prepared :)

I’ll be continuing my fathers story in the next post.

Everywhere around the word

Sometime last year, one of my friends asked me to do “America” by “Neil Diamond”. It took a while to work through the other tunes in my request list, but I finally made it :)

It didn’t matter to him that it took so long. He was overjoyed.

No beating about the bush.

This is my version:

Me singing America by Neil Diamond

Not so long ago, I made instrumental versions of my own songs available online. For those that were interested in covering me, or using my music in their videos. There have already been 4 uses, and more telling me that they will be using them. One Youtuber used my instrumental music in 3 of her videos, and a South African couple did an acoustic cover of one of my romantic songs. That’s a good start. Quicker than I anticipated :)

Youtube Stats.

I have 438 Subscribers. It went up initially. Then one of my subscribers left. Then I got another one this morning.

The channel views are up to 10,702.

I now have 125,856 total video views. They are still going along at an impressive rate

Hmmm. What’s next.

Another request from a while back. It’s one from Mr Robbie Williams :)

Good to need you so

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

Here is the 2nd of the 2 Neil numbers in sequence. This was a massive hit for him, and my video of this has done pretty well. It’s viewing figures are just about double that of the previous video.

The song is “Hello again”. If you are familiar with Neil Diamond, and you don’tr know this song then…..Where have you been? :)

Anyway. Here it is:

Me singing Hello Again by Neil Diamond

That’s the last of Neil Diamond for a while. The following 3 posts are all songs written by me.

Now my regular statistical update of my Youtube Channel.

For the first time between posts. There hasn’t been an increase in Subscribers. The figure still stands at 392.

My Channle viewings have finally moved past the 10k target figure and are now 10,064.

Video views now stand at 110,754.

So, it’s on to some Originals :)

Neil and September Morn

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

2 Neil diamond songs on the bounce now. This is one of the most enjoyable of his songs to perform. It’s a wonderful song called “September morn”.

These two Neil Diamond songs were requested a while ago. I’ve been keeping a list of requests, and It’s so big not that I’ve had to stop accepting any more. It’s goint to take me over a year to get through the current list!

Here is my version of this classic song:

There is another Neil song next.

So how are things on my Youtube channel?

Well, I’ve got more subscribers again. The total is 392. 8 more to go to 400.

The Channel views are within touching distance of the 10k figure at 9,996. Youtube updates every so often, so Imagine the next time it does, it will be there.

The video views now stand at 109,854.

The second of the two Neil Diamond songs is coming up next :)

Neil and Pulp fiction

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

This is a tune that was in a very popular movie titled “Pulp fiction”. The act that did a version of the song was called Urge Overkill. It was the first time I had heard the song, and I was surprised to find out that it was actually written by Neil Diamond.

A fantastic film and a great song. I enjoyed singing it.

Here is my version.

Me singing Girl youll be a woman soon

The 25th video is next. Which is another Original song.

And so it was

Monday, May 25th, 2009

It’s Neil Diamond again. I was ploughing through my requests. There were loads more to do, and there were a few Neil Diamond song in there.

The next one up, off the list was “Play Me”. This one has to be in my top 5 Neil songs. I can’t really put my finger on it, but I really like singing it.

See what you think:

Me singing Play Me by Neil Diamond

In an effort to reduce the Neil songs on the list, the next video is a Neil song too. Then it’s back to other songs.

But until then :)

Yet more Neil

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

The frequency of requests didn’t seem to be slowing down, and it was time for another Neil Diamond song. I had requests for a few Neil Diamond songs, and from all of those I chose to do Beautiful noise. This song did quite well. It has had over 750 viewings up to the point of this post.

So here it is. My allegedly Beautiful Noise.

Me singing Beautiful Noise by Neil Diamond

I hope you liked it. There is more Neil Diamond to come from me. They were all requests, and they will be coming in later posts.

My rendition of I am I said

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

I was getting pretty good comments on my Neil Diamond songs, so it was time to do another. The third of his songs I had done so far on Youtube. I was more pleased with this one myself, because of the improvement in my sound setup. This is a favourite among a lot of Neil Diamond fans. There are some notes which are quite low, but my voice coud cope with that pretty easily.

The song is I am I said.

and here is my version:

Me singing I am I said by Neil Diamond

That’s about it for this one :)

Hands touching hands

Monday, March 30th, 2009

This was the final video where my sound setup was of a poor quality. So this one is quiet, like the others.

My second Neil Diamond song on Youtube. The song is Sweet Caroline.

This is another one of his most well known songs.

and this is my rendition:

Me singing Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond

The sound gets much better after this one, but another problem shows it’s head. I’ll explain that in the next post.
